Members of the QBA are encouraged to
nominate colleagues for the following awards:
Distinguished
Band Director Award – shall be presented to a Quebec band director who has made an outstanding contribution
to band in Quebec. This contribution must be consistent with the ideals of the QBA. The
nominee shall be an exemplary individual who displays strong musical leadership in his/her community and the province. Over
the course of his/her career, the individual shall show a consistent promotion of musical excellence.
Award of Distinction – recognizes a non-music educator or individual who has made
an outstanding contribution to music education in Quebec (administrator, parent, volunteer, etc.)
Retirement Award – recognizes the contribution of a QBA member who has recently retired.
The nominator is requested to send, by August 1, the following
information to the QBA President at the address below:
Name, school and address of nominee
Resume of the nominee
The award recipient will be chosen by the President of the QBA and two executive board members. The
Award will be presented at the QBA Event. The recipient’s school or organization shall be informed
of the award. A press release and photo shall be submitted to Canadian Winds. The
recipient’s name and a brief biography shall be placed on the QBA website.
