 We are proud to announce the début
of the Quebec Band Association Youth Wind Ensemble (QYWE). For seven years, the QBA has maintained
through our annual Honour Band a tradition of performance excellence, friendship and fun. We are now taking it to the
next level by starting a high-caliber ensemble that will be participating in festivals, competitions and touring the world!
It’s going to be an exciting season, and we welcome you to the QYWE family.
The
QYWE, under the direction of Andrew Mangal, had their first rehearsal on January 21, 2011. We are proud to announce
that 28 musicians were there for an amazing 2-hour rehearsal.
The QYWE is inviting students 16-21 years of
age who wish to play high level (grade 4-5) concert band repertoire.The rehearsal schedule for the group is Friday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Vanier College.
Auditions for the 2011-2012 season will be in late August with the new season starting in September.
