college Notre Dame, M. Lavasseur began to conduct a wind orchestra with which he met with his first successes in provincial

of associate conductor. Since the summer of 2003 he combines the functions of coordinator and musical director
for the wind orchestra session at Camp Musical des Laurentides.

trumpet lessons in high school. He continued
his musical studies under Yolande Parent at Université de Montréal, where he obtained a degree in classical
singing. He completed his Master’s degree in orchestral conducting from
the Conservatoire de Musique Montreal in April 2011, where he studied with Maestro
Raffi Armenian. In June 2009, Philippe became the music director
of the Orchestre Philharmonique des Musiciens Étudiants de Montréal (OPMEM). This past summer he was the National
Academy Orchestra’s assistant conductor of maestro Boris Brott. In addition to his roles as music

in February having learned the music. We encourage you to start now and
get help from your teacher/band director where necessary.
You should have the parts to the following pieces:
REPERTOIRE:

have a copy of one of these pieces, please let us know right away. Some changes during rehearsal days may be inevitable to
assist balance and blend within the ensemble.

We will have secure rooms available to store your coats and bags during the day on Saturday. You
are welcome to bring games (cards, game-boys, etc.) to entertain yourself during the evening when you are not performing.
