  • Sight-Reading Made Simple! : Sight-reading is often a dreaded activity. For many people, this happens because we get overwhelmed by the amount of detail we have to contend with, the mistakes we know we will make, and the horrible sounds we think will come out of our instruments. The best sight-readers read shapes and images rather than notes and rhythms. In this workshop, we will experience sight-reading from the student's perspective and learn how to simplify a complex process.

Dr. Darrin Oehlerking currently serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs for the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan, and is a Professor of Music in the USask School for the Arts.
