Honour Band Weather Update

Due to the current and forecasted weather conditions, this evening's Symphonic Band rehearsal at Vanier College will be cancelled.

We are looking forward to welcoming all Honour Band participants
(Concert Band & Symphonic Band)
at Vanier College on Saturday morning for registration and rehearsals!

Workshop for Teachers:
Conducting and Rehearsal Techniques
with Guest Conductor Simone Gendron
​and the Quebec Youth Wind Ensemble

Friday, February 7th, 2020
7:00-8:00pm
Vanier College
Open to QBA Members only (Registration required)

Geared toward high school and elementary band directors, this workshop will take place during the 2020 Honour Band event, and provide its participants a conducting opportunity with the Quebec Youth Wind Ensemble. The workshop will include coaching with guest Honour Band conductor, Mrs. Simone Gendron.

Three active participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis; however, the workshop is open to all members who wish to attend and observe. All participants may bring an instrument to play with the ensemble. 

Active participants are asked to prepare one selection from the following list. Scores for the selected piece will be provided by email following registration. 
  • Nightsong - Saucedo
  • Fire Dance - Shaffer
  • Lincolnshire Posy, Mvt I or II - Grainger
  • Any movement from 2nd Suite in F - Holst

Honour Band 2020


We're looking forward to seeing all of the Honour Band 2020 participants on February 7th and 8th, 2020 at Vanier College. 

This year, we are excited to welcome Dr. Jason Caslor to work with the Symphonic Band, and Simone Gendron with our Concert Band!
